Amendment 1
This amendment protected the most fundamental, according to the Founding Fathers, including the right to openly discuss our elected officals.
Amendment 2
Citizens can own guns. (Bear arms)
Amendment 3
People cannot be forced to house soldiers in their home, but can if they consent. (Quartering troops)
Amendment 4
Law enforcement cannot look through your property, or take any of your property, without official government approval. (Search and seizure)
Amendment 5
Prohibits double jeopardy, person cannot be forced to testify against themselves. (Rights of an accused person)
Amendment 6
Guarantees the right to an attorney, the right to face an accuser in court, the right to know the charges against them. (Fair and speedy trial)
Amendment 7
When a person sues another person, they have the rights to have a jury trail(person v person) (Civil suits)
Amendment 8
Forbids cruel and unusual punishment and excessive financial punishment
Amendment 9
Just because rights aren't listed in the Constitution, that doesn't mean people don't have them.
Amendment 10
States have the right to do certain things that the federal government doesn't, such as license.
Amendment 11
This amendment tells where a case will be tried if the state is one of its participants. (Suits against a state)
Amendment 12
Charged the way top 2 officials in the US are elected; people can now run in pairs, instead of single candidates. (President and vice president)
Amendment 13
Ended slavery and indentured servitude in the US.
Amendment 14
This amendment protected people against their state governments, as well as the federal government. (Rights of citizens)
Amendment 15
The right to vote was extended to all people regardless of their previous servitude. (Right to vote-race)

The Supreme court's decision was trumped by the legislature's act to make it legal. (Income tax)

Made it so that citizens elected their Congressperson, rather than the state legislature elect them. (Direct election of senators)

Banned liquor in the US

This amendment made it illegal to make African-Americans pay money to vote.

Established what happens, and who takes power if a President dies, resigns, or is removed from office. (Presidential succession)
Amendment 26
The voting age was lowered so citizens who were being drafted into the Vietnam War would have a vote in the election of people who went them there. (Voting age-18)
Amendment 27
A pay raise cannot take effect until the next election
