Describe the various file types: WaveCache, Audio, Rendered, Session file

WaveCache - Visual pictures (graphic representation of all audio files in your session)

Audio Files - Default location for any audio files created.
Rendered Files - Files within this are either .wav or .aif audio files. Managed by Pro Tools (created and deleted as needed)

Session File - Back up files protecting you from losing all you work if something goes wrong, number of backups can be changed manually.

Describe what the edit window looks like?

Top of the edit window, a wide variety of tool clusters arranged according to their function.

Describe what the mix window looks like?

A mixer, vertical strips represents a track (tracks re listed from top to bottom on the edit window and left to right on the mix window). Mix window will be blank of there is nothing.

Describe what the transport window looks like?

Pause, skip, record buttons, time stamps, tempo, time signature, bars.

Describe the following menus: file, view, setup, options, window

File: Allows you to open and close sessions and save them. Can also import audio and MIDI and export final mixes

View: Shows or hides an aspect of a window

Setup: Configuring how things behave

Options: Enable/disable features indicated by a check mark.

Window: Show, hide or arrange Pro Tools windows.
