1

Scientific Method

a set of steps scientists use to learn new things and solve problems.

2

Dimensional Analysis

a way to change one unit of measurement to another.

3

Independent Variable

the one the scientist changes on purpose during an experiment. It is placed on the x-axis of a graph.

4

Dependent Variable

what the scientist measures or studies.; Distance: The distance traveled from one place to another.

5

Displacement

The straight-line distance from one place to another, including the direction from the first spot to the second spot.

6

Instantaneous speed

The speed at a certain moment, like the number you see on a speedometer in a car.

7

Average speed

The total distance traveled divided by the total time it took to travel.

8

Velocity

How fast something is moving and the direction it is moving.; Instantaneous

9

Speed

The speed at one moment in time. It is what you see on a speedometer.

10

Impulse

The change in momentum when a force is applied over time.

11

acceleration

is how fast velocity changes. You find it by dividing the change in velocity by the change in time.;

12

Momentum

how much motion something has. It depends on how fast it is moving and how big it is.
