transepheroidal hypophysectomy which is the removal of the pituitary gland

POST OP CARE for hypophysectomy
- neuro checks (making Sure nothings changing; ex: speech)
- monitor for bleeding
- monitor for drainage (should be blood/mucus- nasal drip pad will be placed.
- do NOT want to see clear drainage that would be CHS

- oversecretion of growth hormone (GH)
- increase in bone size
- enlargement of facial features, hands and feet
