subject must also be the object

the subject does the action TO THEMSELVES so it depends on the context. eg. ils veulent me rencontrer is NOT reflexive because THEY want to meet ME not I want to meet ME

"done" form of a verb - used when combined with "has/have/had" eg. "I have eaten NOT I have eat"... "j'ai mangé, ils auraient dû"

  • cabossé — masculine singular (dictionary form)
  • cabossée — feminine singular (add e)
  • cabossés — masculine plural (add s)
  • cabossées — feminine plural (add both e and s)

used to describe a state or manner of something

  • à l'envers = upside down / inside out / backwards/ wrong way around/ reverse
  • à l'endroit = the right way around (the opposite expression)
  • à la main = by hand
  • à la mode = in fashion
  • à l'heure = on time

Se faire + infinitive

to have something done to you rather than you doing it yourself

something is done TO the subject by an outside force

  • se faire couper les cheveux = to get your hair cut (it's done to you)
  • se faire tomber = to be made to fall / to get knocked down
