UAB free’s bus services that runs 6 routes but 5:20-12:00 Monday through Friday.

It is an on demand van service that offers transportation for students registered through DSS

Download the app a request a ride from your phone between 9pm and 5:30am. I will take you around the campus only.

How do students get a parking pass?

Apply online and a pass will be mailed to you and fees are applied directly to your blazernet.

Yes, documentation is a part of the registration process. It is also completely confidential

Does DSS provide financial aid or personal services?

No but they can get students connected with people that can help them wether it be in the classroom or a residence hall.

If you see a student with a disbaility should you refer them to DSS?

No allow them to seek out info about DSS from OL’s or other faculty. Also encourage professors to talk about DSS on the first day of classes.

What is the difference between a service animal or an emotional support dog?

A service animal is dog trained to perform a task for an individual with a disability an are typically allowed access to all buildings.
A emotional support animal is sometimes referred to a comfort animal and must be approved through DSS as an accommodation.

It is a group comprised of about 15 families by individuals or couples of currently enrolled students representing various academic years. The goal of the council is to advocate for the needs of all students from uab and the local communities of Birmingham. In state, out of state, and international students are represented.
