Yes, documentation is a part of the registration process. It is also completely confidential
Does DSS provide financial aid or personal services?
No but they can get students connected with people that can help them wether it be in the classroom or a residence hall.
If you see a student with a disbaility should you refer them to DSS?
No allow them to seek out info about DSS from OL’s or other faculty. Also encourage professors to talk about DSS on the first day of classes.

It is a group comprised of about 15 families by individuals or couples of currently enrolled students representing various academic years. The goal of the council is to advocate for the needs of all students from uab and the local communities of Birmingham. In state, out of state, and international students are represented.
