Cognitive Biases
Subconscious errors in thinking that led you to misinterpret information from the world around you and its affects on the rationality and accuracy of your decisions and judgement
Biases are unconscious and automatic processes designed to make decision making quicker and more efficient
Personal motivations, social influence, emotions and difference in our information processing capacities can all cause cognitive biases and influence how they manifest themselves
2
Conformation Bias
When people tend to seek out, interpret, and recall information in a way that confirms their pre-conceived notions and ideas
- in other words, people attempt to preserve their existing beliefs by paying attention to information that confirms those beliefs and discounting information that could challenge them
