Infiltration

is the administration of nonvesicant solution or medication into the surrounding tissue; can occur when the IV cannula dislodges or perforates the wall

Paresthesia

pins and needles sensation

condition of urine containing white blood cells or puss

Anuria

decreased urine output of less than 50ml in 24 hours (essentially failure of the kidneys to produce urine)

Bacteriuria

bacteria in the urine

Diuresis

increased urine output (can be drug-induced)

Dysuria

painful urination

8.

Hematuria

red blood cells in the urine

9.

Nocturia

awaking at night to urinate

10.

Oliguria

decreased urine output, less than 400ml in 24 hours (or 20ml per hour)

11.

Polyuria

production of abnormally large volumes of dilute urine
