How is oxygen transported by RBCs?
Oxygen combines reversibly with the heme (iron containing portion) of the hemoglobin protein. It is then picked up by the RBCs in the lungs and unloaded throughout the body.
What is the relationship between the number of hemoglobin molecules and and oxygen transportation?
The more hemoglobin molecules there is, the increased amount of oxygen transported.
