What is projection and how can it be distorted?
A transfer from location of Earth's surface to a flat map. Shape, distance, relative size, and direction are distortion.
What was the Land Ordinance of 1785?
When the country was divided into townships and ranges, including principle meridians, base lines, and sections
What contemporary tools can be used for geography?
GPS for positioning, remote sensing for data, and GIS for displaying data.
What is the difference between site and situaiton?
Site- physical characteristic of place
Situation- Realtive to other places
How do you describe a mathematical location of somewhere?
Meridian, longitude, and Prime Meridian
Parallel and latitude
What are the three types of regions?
Formal, functional, and vernacular
Describe and explain how the regions are different
Formal- same characteristics

What is density and what are its types?
The frequency with which something occurs in space. Arithmetic, physiological, agricultural.
What is diffusion?
The process from which a characteristic spreads across space from time to time.
How is hearth related to diffusion?
Hearth: Where a place originates
What type of diffusion is it if and idea is spread through physical movement of people?
What are 3 types of expansion diffusion?
Hierarchial, Contagious, and stimulus
