Wrod Processing

An application program to help create documents such as memos, letters and reports.

Application program used for word processing.

Default Settings

The settings that are in place when a program is opened such as margins or font.

Titlebar

Shows the name of the program and open document.Also containes minimize, maximize and close button.

Office Button

Round circle in left corner of the window. Click the office button to find a drop dow menu for open, save, print etc.

Ribbon

The strip of buttons and icons located above the work area in word 2007.

Tabs

The Ribbon is broken down into seven tabs Each tab has a commmin purpos and consist of several groups.

Groups

A group is a set of similiar commands on a Ribbon.

Dialougue Box Launcher

Its the arrow in the bottom right hand corner of some groups. when clicked it will bring up a dialog where additional options/changes can be entered.

This is what you are typing/what will print out.

Scroll Bars

Allows you to view entire work book by moving it up, down, left and right.

Help

Located right below the exit button on the titlebar. Used for help when using Microsift Word.

Quick Access Toolbar

Tool bar that allows you to add frequently used commands.

Numbers marked across the top of the page used for margins

View Ruler Button

Allows you to view\hide the rulers

Screen Split Button

Lets you split your screen in two when double clicked.Double clicking a second time will un split your screen.

Tab Selector Button

You can easily set tab stops by clicking on the desired position on the ruler. This button allows you to determine which type of tab will be set left aligned, right aligned, center aligned or decimal tab. clicking on this button will allow you to change the tab style.

UNDO

To remove the effects of a previous command (CTRL + Z)

REDO

Restors the most recent commandthat was undone

Print prieview

allows you to see how a document will look before printing.

Clipboard

A temporary storage for a selection that is waiting to be pasted. -clipboard

Cut

(CTRL+X) Cut a selection and paste on clipnoard -cut

Determines whether your document will be printed lengthwise or crosswise -Orientation
