calcium anion from the extra cellular fluid goes into the presynaptic cell
the synaptic vesicles release its context (neurotransmitters)into the synaptic cleft, utilizing energy from the mitochondria
the neurotransmitters from the synaptic cleft attaches to the receptors of the post synaptic terminal
change in the cell membrane permeability of the post synaptic cell
if the membrane become more permeable to Na+ it will move out to in, thus making the inside less negative
if it touches the threshold it lead to an action potential in the post synaptic cell.
