Loratadine

1) Trade name: Claritin
2) Antihistamine, nonsedating
3) Temporary relief of symptoms due to hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies (runny nose, sneezing, itchy/watery eyes, itching of nose/throat)
4) Avoid in patients with allergic reaction to the product or its components. Caution with liver/kidney disease.
5) Report sedation, confusion, hypotension. Do not take alcohol with this medication. Best tolerated with meals. Oral care/sugarless gum and hard candy will help relieve dry mouth side effects. Monitor for allergic reaction and therapeutic effects.
