The start of the clip becomes fixed and they will move to correspond with the sample based timeline.

4-How is editing MIDI data different from editing audio? How are MIDI notes affected when deleting a selection or trimming a clip compared to how audio waveforms are affected?

When you delete/trim the start of MIDI note it will erase the whole note.

If you delete/trim the end of the clip the note may overhang if the entire note is not selected


4-What are some of the functions of the Pencil tool when editing MIDI notes?

select note, delete note, add note, trim note, move note - Basically turns into a smart tool


4-What setting normally determines the Default Note Duration when adding notes with the Pencil tool? How can this setting be changed?
